I am a photographer and filmmaker based in Kuantan, previously Kuala Lumpur, and have been working on photography assignments across Malaysia since 2015.
My passion for photography began at a very young age. One of my earliest memories is of a black Olympus film camera that my late father used to document moments from our family’s life. From photographs taken just days after I was born to the many memories that followed as our family grew, that camera became a treasured part of our household.
Those photographs sparked my curiosity about cameras and the process of capturing moments. Over time, that curiosity turned into experimentation, and eventually into a deeper passion. I finally owned my first camera during my first year of university, and from that point onward, photography became an important part of my life.
As a self-taught photographer, I’ve had the privilege of working with many clients and collaborators across a wide range of assignments. Over the years, I have worked alongside photographers from studios such as The Leiora, Qippy Photography, and Zul Ilias Photography, gaining valuable experience in professional production environments and diverse event coverage.
Beyond commercial assignments, I have also been involved in documentary-related work. I had the opportunity to assist researchers in documenting fieldwork within Orang Asli communities, including time spent living in villages during research projects involving the Jahai community in Gerik and the Semelai community in Bera. These experiences allowed me to observe and document life within indigenous communities while supporting academic documentation efforts.
In addition to documentary and event photography, my work has also been featured in exhibition spaces. One of my astrophotography images was printed and displayed on a large wall installation at Tech Dome Penang in 2018.
My assignments cover a variety of fields including weddings, portraiture, products, real estate, architecture, and convocations. However, weddings continue to hold a special place in my heart. No two weddings are ever the same — every couple has their own story, their own journey, and their own unique moments. Being trusted to document those memories is both a responsibility and an honour.
Through photography and film, my goal has always been simple: to capture meaningful moments and transform them into lasting memories.
